Washing the dishes....

In the toilet?! THANKS BUT NO THANKS! Well, again Kaylan was being a little too quiet. I hear Kenslee scream, "Mom, look what Buggy's doing!" I ran to the bathroom and this is what I saw. Apparently she decided to "wash" her dishes in the toilet! Thank goodness there wasn't anything swimming in there. EWWWW!

She knew she was doing something she shouldn't be. Here she is trying to "explain" herself to me. Yeah, I found another gray hair on my head and I know right where they're coming from!!!

Retro Baby!

I found these darling aprons. Aren't they so cute? I just love the retro modern look to them. Now that I have my KitchenAid I have been baking more and of course I need a new apron right? One of my new favorite websites is Etsy. They have TONS of cute stuff!

And check out these Groovy Gloves from a local--Jillie Willie. You can be super stylish while cleaning!

I'm thinkin' the girls might need one as well to go with their pink retro kitchen. Hmmmm.

I scream you scream we all scream for....

PINK EYE?! Uh, yeah. I don't think so! I can't believe this. Not only do I have pink eye in one eye, yeah, I have it in friggin' both eyes. Isn't that lovely? Kaylan had it last week and Kenslee and I woke up with it yesterday. Tony doesn't have it....yet. Hopefully he won't get it. Yesterday the girls had their "well check" appointments. While I was there I asked their doctor if there was anything he could give us for having this wonderful pink eye. He gave us some eye drops to use for the next five days. Gee, what a fun time.

Wow! This is about how I feel after being cleaning up Christmas. I didn't realize how many boxes and boxes and packaging crap came with stuff! I swear, the dolls and toys the girls got for Christmas were more secured and tied down than your own baby is at the hospital! Holy Crap. I think my fingers are going to be sore for a few more days undoing those 'twisty ties'. I think they're more like 'twisty barbed wire.'
Although we have a lovely collection of boxes and plastic wrap, we had a very nice Christmas. It was nice to be with family and enjoy each other's company. Goodbye Christmas decorations....until next year.

It's Christmas Eve!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve already! I'm worse than my kids. I'm so excited. I just love watching people open presents. This year we have chosen to do a Sub for Santa as well. I want my children to understand that not everybody is as lucky as we are and that we need to be like the Saviour and give unto others as well.
One of my patients is a bishop for an inner city ward downtown. There are a bunch of refugee families from Africa, Asia, and other places. Some were literally starving to death. He said that it is one of the toughest callings he has ever had in his life. Many of the people are not LDS but need to be taken care of and since they are in his boundaries that's what he does. I wanted so badly to help out wherever I could so I told him that we would love to do a Sub for Santa for one of the families. The family that was assigned to us is from Burma. They don't speak any english, in fact, the place they are from is so small that there are no missionaries that even speak their dialect. We have a ton of stuff to give them and we are soooo excited to deliver it to them tonight.
I hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas. What a fun and spiritual time of the year. Merry Christmas and don't forget to put out the cookies for Santa!

Where are you and what are you doing???

This morning I woke up to my usual alarm clock, Kaylan. She always calls "MOM!" and starts banging her crib against the wall like a bobcat in a burlap sack at exactly 7:45. Right when I get her up and change her diaper the first words out of her little mouth are, "I want cereal." When doesn't she want cereal? This girl can eat! After breakfast I did the usual and parked Kaylan in front of cartoons and proceeded to park myself in front of the computer. About 30 minutes later it was still really quiet and she hadn't said a word. I looked over and she was gone and she was far too quiet. Those of you who are mothers know that this isn't usually a good thing. I walked over to the couch and found this little person playing the Nintendo DS. She was concentrating ever so intently. It was one of the funniest things I have seen. I didn't know that I had a future DS champion on my hands!

The Bestest Book Ever!

This has got to be one of the cutest books I have ever read! It has fun pictures, a cute story, and a very good lesson. I saw this featured on one of my favorite local tv shows, GTU, and had to get it. It's a fun read for any age. I thought I'd buy it and read it to the family on Christmas Eve.

So, while I'm talking about Christmas I thought I'd list things I love about it. So here they are:

1. I love giving presents. It is so much fun to see the faces of those you care about when they open something. I just can't get enough of that.

2. Stockings! I love all the different kinds of stockings out there. My favorite have to be the jester ones though. Don't they just put a smile on your face?

3. And who can forget this guy Jolly Old St. Nick himself? I love this porcelain rendition of Santa my mother in law gave me.

4. Ribbon!!!! I have a fetish with ribbon. Although I make hairbows out of some of it for my girls, I don't use all of it. It is just so cute. Whenever I see ribbon on sale I have to buy it. It comes in handy for decorating gifts, frames, and other fun crafts.

5. And, of course, I cannot forget my Saviour. I love him with all of my heart. I am so thankful for His sacrifice. Without Him, you and I wouldn't be celebrating this most beautiful time of the year.

Congratulations Tenie and Happy Birthday BUGGY!

Yesterday was my Buggy's birthday. I can't believe she is 2 years old! Time flies. She is just getting so big.

My little sister Tenille had her third baby, a beautiful little girl on December 14th. They named her Mercedes. She weighed 7lbs. 8oz. and was 19 inches long. Not only was she born on the same day as Kaylan but they share the same stats! Crazy huh?

Christmas Shopping!

Has everybody done their Christmas shopping? Every year I vow that we will be done by the first of December and it never happens. I also vow that my kids will get no more than three presents each and that has yet to happen as well. I just find way too many deals on Pinching Your Pennies that I simply can't resist (okay, maybe I can but I don't choose too). A lot of things are more than 60% off and include free shipping!! I'm really excited for them to open their presents. Santa is bringing them a pink retro kitchen set. It's soooo cute!! I'm also excited for Tony to open his gifts. I think he'll be surprised. As for me, well, I already got mine. I received a KitchenAid mixer that I have been wanting for quite some time now. I absolutely love it! I can't believe Christmas is here in 10 days!!!

I've been tagged!

Well, I've been tagged by my friend Brandi. I have to list 7 things that most people don't know about me so here I go:

1. I am addicted to coupons. I can't stand buying something if I don't have a coupon for it. I love getting free or dirt cheap groceries. What can I say?

2. I am a bit of a perfectionist. Whenever I make or do something it has to be darn near perfect. It drives my husband crazy!

3. I can be quite the "dumb blonde" Just ask anybody at work. Sometimes I just don't get their jokes. I feel dumb because everybody else gets the joke but me. They say I get some kind of "look" on my face that lets them know I don't get it. Whatever.

4. I can't stand feet! They just totally gross me out. The only feet I can touch are baby's feet up until 2 years old. I can't even have Tony's feet touch me. EWWWWW!!

5. I'm compulsive about flossing my teeth. I always have floss in my purse and I floss in the car. Sometimes I floss my teeth way too hard that my gums bleed. Weird I know.

6. I love CUTE hand writing and PENS! It makes me so happy when I see cute hand writing. It puts a smile on my face and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It drives me nuts when I'm in a hurry and my handwriting is not cute. Of course having a good pen makes all the difference too. Sometimes I just have a retarded pen.

7. Gerber daisies are my most favorite flower in the whole world. Whenever I look at them they just make me smile. I call them my happy flowers. They just put you in a good mood for some reason.

So that's it. 7 things that most people don't know about me. Now it's my turn to tag some friends. I choose: Aly, Sarah, Shawna, Keri, and Tats. If you don't have a blog, just e-mail me. :)

This is how we do it...............

Well, this is how the Rydman brothers hang up Christmas lights anyway. I was inside the house (on the computer of course) and I hear this 'beep, beep, beep' sound. I thought a dump truck was backing into our house! I go outside to find Tony and his older brother Chris with a lift to hang the lights! Since Tony's brother, Chris, has the machinery at the business they decided why not hang lights up with a lift? I have to tell you it was pretty amusing watching these two in the basket. I was quite entertained. Everybody in the neighborhood was quite jealous. As soon as they were in the lift I ran into the house to grab my camera so I could photo journal this! I wasn't missing this for the world. They did a great job and the lights are very straight--just the way I wanted them. Good job boys!
Kenslee making sure the lights are straight!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving today. I am so excited to eat some good turkey, look at ads, and visit with family. I am so thankful for all my blessings. I am thankful for my husband and children as well as wonderful parents, siblings, and in-laws. I am also thankful for the gospel and a loving Heavenly Father who continues to watch over me.

I am thankful for....

My two ma'am's and my guy. My girls are my absolute pride and joy. They are the reason I get up everyday of my life. The joy they bring to me is unmeasurable. They make me laugh, they make me cry. They make me remember the little things in life that I would otherwise take for granted. I cannot imagine my life without them.
I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who is caring, understanding, and a great helper. He is so patient with me and the girls. He is such an awesome father to
Kenslee and Kaylan. Coming from a family of 4 brothers he's doing pretty well with only girls so far. He makes me laugh and is so much fun to be around. He is everything (and more) I had asked my Heavenly Father for ever since I was little girl. I don't know how I found him but I am a very lucky lady.
I'm not sure why my cheeks look so red. I promise I don't have that much makeup on. WOW!

The NEW!!!

So, anybody who knows me well knows that I absolutely love to take pictures. I have been wanting this camera for a very long time and my sweet husband was very understanding (and also got a nice bonus!) that we were able to get one. I LOVE this camera!

I almost always have a camera with me at all times. I love capturing some of life's precious moments and having them with me as a reminder as to how sweet life is. It also helps me to remember that life doen't have to be so difficult. That is one of the reasons I love to take pictures of children, especially my own because they make me realize that life is too short and it's just going back to the basics that make us really happy.

Halloween

The girls had so much fun going trick or treating. Kenslee was a princess and Kaylan was a spider. They started out with their cousins, Isaac and Davis, in their neighborhood while Mommy was stuck in traffic for an hour!! When I got home we went around our neighborhood with some friends. It was a lot of fun. They got a lot of candy. Kaylan wanted to open the candy as soon as it was handed to her.

Buggy, Buggy, Buggy.................

Well, our little Kaylan, a.k.a. Buggy, is growing so fast. I can hardly believe that she will be two years old in December! She is such a bundle of joy. She is such a happy, friendly little girl. It's been so fun having her in our family. She follows Kenslee around everywhere. She loves her big sister. Some of her favorite things to do are: get her picture taken, sing, dance, carry her baby around, EAT, read books, EAT, play outside, EAT, color, and did I mention eat? She is always on the go. She is never sitting still for more than 2 seconds....honestly. She's a busy little bee. The other day I was organizing her closet and I put some cute baskets at the top of her closet to put things in and she goes, "That's cool mom." Wow! She's not even two.

And.....of course our Ma'am.......

My sweet little Kenslee. Wow! I can't believe she is 5 years old already. It seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital with my sweet little baby with all sorts of things hooked up to her. I was so scared that she might not have made it but the Lord has truly blessed us with her. She is a very smart little girl. She is a girl who knows what she wants and will do anything and everything to get what she wants! It's kinda scary. She sounds like her mom. She started preschool the beginning of this month and loves it. I had a hard time dropping her off. I cried of course. It's weird not having her home with me during the day when she has school.

North Carolina!

So we went to North Carolina to see our good friends the Vanderwalkers aka Chillerdogs!!! We had so much fun. They live in Waxhaw which is the birthplace of the 7th president of the US, Andrew Jackson. Who knew? It is so beautiful there. It is very green. You don't realize how much of a desert we live in here in Utah until you go someplace like North Carolina. V and Brandy showed us some good cookin' here in the South. We went to a great BBQ restaurant where we just missed John McCain and they also took us downtown for some good soul food at Mert's. I think our waitress had a likin' for Brandy. She thought she was very pretty....and she is of course. We also went to an exhibit downtown called Bodyworlds. It was awesome!!! They are real bodies that have been set in plastination. I was in science heaven!
I absolutely fell in love with the homes over there. Everybody has porches. It's so charming. Brandy showed us the Mott's Mansion. Yep, this would be the Mott's Applesauce people. This place is HUGE and sits on at least 50 acres!
