Kenslee

Kenslee was tagged by her friend Lauren. 5 things you may not know about this little cutie.

1. She was born with so much hair that I could have put two tiny little pig tails in her hair!

2. She's a bit of a perfectionist like her mom and Papa. Ever since she was a year old she has had to have things in order and I mean order. I tried tricking her one time by moving something out of place while she wasn't looking and she came back and got so mad. She was only 18 months old!

3. She loves to teach to her little sister. She reads to her and loves to "teach" her how to do ballet.

4. She is a VERY independent little girl (like her mama). She loves to go stay over night with her Nana and Papa. One time she took a trip with them to Georgia to visit her cousins for almost three weeks and wasn't ready to come back home yet!

5. She is a daddy's girl and always has been. It's been fun to watch because it reminds me of the relationship that I have with my own daddy.

We tag:
Kobe, Rylee, and Sadie!

Sooo Good

I tried a recipe from The Pioneer Woman. Man, she has a lot of good stuff on there. This recipe was so tasty, although, I did alter it a little bit. I used whole wheat spaghetti pasta instead of linguine and I cooked the eggs.

A Little Tired?

Tony took this picture of the girls the other night. Not sure where I was. Hmmmm. Anyway, apparently Kaylan was just too exhausted to realize what an awkward position she was in. Looks a little uncomfortable to me.

A Domestic Diva

Raspberry Jam

Yeap, that's me.....or at least I was one day last week. I made some jam and I am so proud of myself. I never in a million years would have thought that little old me would make some jam. Mmmmmm it tastes so good. I made some strawberry and raspberry jam. I even added some ground flaxseed into some of them just to be somewhat "healthy."
Next on my list: Canning peaches and making grape juice. YUM!

Molli

We stopped by and did a surprise visit to Nana and Papa on Saturday. When Nana answered the door she was holding a new little friend----Molli. She is their new little dog and she is absolutely adorable! Welcome Molli! Kenslee could not put her down. Poor Molli.

FYI- That is orange juice on Kenslee's upper lip. Lovely huh?

Cornbelly's!

This weekend Tony went fishing with his brothers so that left me and the girls. We decided to go with some friends down to Thanksgiving Point for some Cornbelly's Fun! Since it was opening weekend there were some coupons that got us in for only $1! I love a deal. Especially when the normal price is $10.50.
They had a few corn mazes, bounce houses, gem finding, princess story telling (by the Pumpkin Princess!), hay rides, etc. We were there for 3.5 hours. The girls and I had a great time.

I'm Back!

It's been a very busy week! You may have wondered where I've been since I haven't posted anything since last Saturday. Well, we've been busy getting this new loveley:

Yep, that's right, we bought a new vehicle for our growing family. No, it's not a van, and no it doesn't get the best gas mileage but it does have everything we were looking for and way lower than we had budgeted which is always nice. I'm so glad I have a husband who is quite the bargain shopper.
We bought ourselves a Toyota Landcruiser and we love it. The girls have been so excited to have all this extra room in the back seat. The other day Kenslee said, "Mom, can you believe that we have this car? It's like a dream."
I can't believe it myself sometimes. We're not used to heated leather seats, sunroof, and a CD player. And KEYLESS ENTRY!? I never thought I would own a vehicle with this. Woah. Though it's not brand new, it's new to us and we're excited.

My Posse From 1996

"We met by chance and turned into friends and now our destiny keeps us close to each other making our friendship grow more with the passing time."
-Unknown-

Friday night we had a get together with most of the high school girls from good old Alta High! Go HAWKS! We headed over to Thaifoon Restaurant which was super. I had never been there before. The food was good, although I didn't eat much because I was too excited talking to everyone! We were missing a few but all in all we had a great turn out and we had a blast. I can't believe it's been 12 years since we graduated. Wowza! Of course I was the only one that was plump with a bun in the oven. Not fair. Everybody looks fantastic. It was so fun to catch up on what they are doing. We waited far too long for this to happen ladies! Let's not wait another 12 years ok?

We have been friends since the 8th grade. I can't believe it!

September 11th

I can't believe it's been seven whole years since this tragic day. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in college and on my way to campus. As I was driving in my car listening to the radio, it was interrupted by breaking news. This horrible breaking news that two planes had crashed into the Twin Towers. I was shocked. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. As I parked my car and headed in to class, my professor started by asking if everybody had heard what happened. It was a very somber hour in that class that day. We hardly talked about Medicine, but instead talked about the breaking news. He even let us leave early that day. After class I remember driving up to the hospital to work and as I walked in everybody was talking about it. All of the televisions were on in the waiting rooms and people were crying. It was so sad.
I hope nothing like this happens again. I am so thankful for the men and women who are protecting and who have protected our country. God Bless You.

Oh Me Oh Freakin' My!

How adorable is this Ashton Windowpane Blazer from Ralph Lauren? Holy Maccaroni! I think my little guy would look absolutely studly in this. It's a little on the pricey side though. It's sure fun to dream though isn't it?

A Little Excited Maybe?

So maybe I'm getting a little excited for our little man to come into our family. I bought some onesies and some material and decided to make tie appliques. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I can't wait to see what our little guy looks like in these shirts. Only 9 more weeks to go! Yippee!
I also found some cute "Rocker" iron ons at the store. Aren't they fun?

So Simply Elegant

I came across this darling stationery at Simply Silhouettes.
Now that Kenslee is in school I kinda can't wait for her to be late or absent. That sounds silly but look at these darling School Notes from Simply Silhouettes! Darling! I know!! I can send a note to her teacher in style. Cuz that's what it's all about right? :) They even have one to give to your babysitter.
These would make a great present!

Swiss Days and Park City!

This past weekend we went up to Heber with Tony's brother Chris, his wife Emily, and their three little ones. It was fun for the girls to play with their cousins and for us to get away.
Saturday, Emily and I headed over to Swiss Days. If you live in Utah and have never been...........Ya Gotta Go! It is so much fun. They have a ton of different vendors with crafty little things. I like to get ideas and make them on my own! And they have the best scones ever! Yum.
When we got back the guys went and did a round of 18 at the golf course while we took our turn watching the kiddos.
We decided to take the kids up to the Olympic Park. Neither of us had been before. Wow, what an amazing part of Utah history we have here in our own backyard! It was a great museum and the kids were entertained by the aerial ski teams from Australia, China, and the good old US of A practicing their jumps into the water. We were there for a good three hours!

These athletes are Incredible!

On Sunday we headed over to the Alpine slide. Tony had never done this before and it is a definite must if you haven't. It's a huge slide that is up the mountain side. The only way to get up is by the chairlift. You sit on a sled like thing and you slide your way down that cement. It's a fun time!
