A Sneak Peak

This is a little hint of what we're doing. We still need to put up some molding at the top of the stripes on the walls so don't pay attention to that too much!
I'm way excited at how it's turning out! I can't wait until our little guy is here.
I had an ultrasound the other day and my midwife pointed out hair. He said, "Wow, this little guy is going to have some hair." I replied, "Is that not normal to see hair on an ultrasound?" and he said it's not very common. I told him that my kids have TONS of hair. I think a good pound of their weight comes from their hair in fact! We shall find out shortly.

Fishing With Daddy

A few weeks ago we decided to take the girls to a local pond in a nearby city. They were so excited. I think Daddy was a little anxious too. Those of you who know Tony, know that he is an avid fisherman. He and his brother love to fly fish.
While Tony was at work the girls and I stopped off at KFC for some good chicken to take with us to the pond for a picnic. When Tony got home we just hopped in the car and off we went. We couldn't have had a more perfect evening. It was so pretty.

Kenslee helping Daddy pick the right fly

Not too sure what Buggy is doing here. I'm sure she had something in her shoe. She's quite picky if they don't feel "just right." And boy will she let you know!

I love watching Tony fish for some reason. He just loves it. It's fun to see him enjoying something so much.

Yes, Tony caught a fish and the girls were so EXCITED! And yes, I did get a picture but accidentally erased it! Hate it when that happens!

Reading Time

Kenslee is so into reading now that she finds it so exciting when she sees the words she knows in a library book. Kaylan LOVES books and LOVES to be read to. The other day I could hear them talking and this is what I saw:

More Canning

I'm really kinda liking this canning stuff! My friend had me taste some of her homemade grape juice and wow was it tasty. I found out how easy it was to do and decided to make some of my own. I didn't pick very many grapes so I only made about 7 jars but boy, am I glad I did. If you haven't have homemade grape juice, you're missing out. It'll be hard to go back to the store juice for sure!

My friend Mckenzie tagged me. I'm supposed to go to "My Pictures" and open the third folder and the third picture. Unfortunately it's not of anybody. It's a picture I took when we were with my friend and her family in Star Valley, Wyoming. It's still a pretty one though. I love Star Valley!

Now I tag Challey, Rae, and Pedaling.

10 Things I Remember Growing Up

I saw this on Tib's blog and thought it was hilarious. I want to play along so here goes:

1. Pink Boombox Radio. Oh boy did I think I was the Shizzle with this sweet thing here! Mine looked pretty darn close to this and I remember playing some sweet tunes on this baby!

2. Tapes. Do you remember tapes? Wow, they look so ancient now. I can't believe it. I remember listening all freaking day for a certain song and then trying to "catch it." Gol that was frustrating. I always had the DJ at the beginning of the song introducing it. It was never a perfect recording. And boy did it suck when your radio ate the tape! Another day of waiting for "that song."

3. E.T. I loved this show growing up. It was one of my childhood favorites. I always wanted ET to come and visit me when I was little.

4. Growing Pains. Holy Cow did I have a major crush on Kirk Cameron!

5. Pacman. Man, this was the game of the century for me. I LOVED it!

6. Simon! Remember Simon? This was great for your memory.

7. Rainbow Brite. I was never priveleged enough to have had this cute doll but all my friends did and I was oh, so jealous.

8. Trapper Keeper. Oh man, if you didn't have one of these growing up in the 80's, you must have been living under a rock because these things were DA BOMB! I can just hear that velcro sound. Cuz that's the high tech thing that kept your trapper kept!

9. The VCR baby. Remember this bad boy?

10. Last but certainly not least---TAB. This totally reminds me of my mom when I was growing up. She lo-oved this drink. Every time I see it I think of her.

Anybody who wants to stroll down memory lane, take a stab at it!

Happy Birthday Ma'am!

Our little ma'am is 6 years old. I can hardly believe it! She is such a fun little girl. She's very shy around others but once you get to know her, she's a lively one. She's also a fighter. She's very persistent. I figured this out the day she was born.
This is a story that I haven't shared with many people and it is very near and dear to my heart. During my labor with Kenslee, her heart was getting stressed. Her heart rate shot up to 245 and all I remember hearing from the doctor was, "Mom needs some oxygen and we've got to get this baby out now!" I was so exhausted. I knew something was wrong. They called for the suction to try and get her out but they couldn't get the suction to turn on. I could tell the doctor was under stress and I thought for sure they were going to have to do a C-section on me. At the last minute the suction started to work and they got my baby girl out. They put her in my arms for literally 5 seconds and then swooped her away into the ICU. They were worried about her heart and having to possibly send her up to Primary Children's hospital. I was devastated. Honestly, the only thing that was going through my mind was, "What am I going to write for her obituary?" It's awful but that was the truth. I wanted to cry but I was so out of energy that I must have fallen asleep. I remember waking up and wanting so badly to hold my little girl. I was still numb from the epidural and so I wasn't able to see her until later that night. When the time finally came for me to go see her, my sweet husband wheeled me into the nursery where I saw her. She was hooked up to all sorts of wires and all I could do was cry. It was then that we decided to have Tony give her a blessing. My parents were there with us and there wasn't a dry eye in there. Tony gave the most beautiful blessing. He was so concerned for his little ma'am. After the prayer we just sat there and looked at her. I didn't want to leave her sight. We were told that we would need to stay a little longer in the hospital to make sure she was ok to go home. We were able to go home a couple of days later but we were referred to a cardiologist at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake. They wanted to put a Holter monitor on her to make sure that she was ok. Walking into that hospital was terrifying. As I walked around, I noticed many children hooked up to chemo, others who were burned, and others who were very sick. I felt so scared not knowing what the end result would be. As it turned out, Kenslee was ok. The doctors couldn't believe it but her heart sounded completely normal! I was so grateful to my husband for being able to give a father's blessing and I will be forever thankful to my Heavenly Father for watching over us.
Kenslee is my little fighter and I am thankful for that. She is so special to us and we feel very lucky to have her in our family. I love you sweetheart. Happy 6th Birthday!
