Changes

I feel like I haven't been in the blogging seen for a while. I've had so much on my mind lately and quite frankly, I just haven't felt like blogging. Not only am I going to be having surgery next week but I am also quitting my job at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. My last day is next Tuesday March 31.

It's a very bittersweet ending as I embark on a new chapter in my life. You see, I have been with the University Hospital since I was only 19 years young. The day I stepped through those doors I was so eager and excited to finally be in the setting I had always dreamt of since I was a little girl. I wanted to help people.

Sick people.

And make them feel better.

That's what I've been doing for the past 13 years. I can't believe it's been that long. It has flown by. It's been one of the best journeys of my life.
Yes, I've had my ups and downs and hard challenges but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Not for one second. I have learned so much; especially about myself and who I have become.

I have made some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Friendships that will last...... forever. You see, this has been my "home away from home", my second family. Not only will I miss my "family" but I will greatly miss my patients. Each one has touched me in a different way and for that, I thank you. I will miss your hugs and gracious thank you's. My patients make me so happy and are so appreciative. Yes, even the grumpy ones. They usually end up being my favorite. What can I say? I like a challenge. :) They are all so different and unique in their own way.

This has been a very hard decision for me to make. But my babies need their mama at home. This is going to be an adjustment. Quite an adjustment. But a good one. And, with that, I look forward to see what this new chapter will bring.

Ouch. Teeth. Hurt!

I'm getting ready to have my jaw surgery a week from tomorrow. Aren't you jealous? Yeah, I thought you were. My teeth have been so sore. I had an appointment with the orthodontist last Thursday to get a "special wire" put in on the top and bottom and man did it feel like somebody numb-chucked me to the face! I couldn't chew anything for four days! The only good thing about getting a new wire is that I get to FLOSS because they took the old one out. YIPPEE!! I was brushing and flossing and flossing and brushing. It felt soooo good.

Stay Tuned......Computer Down

Our computer is really really sick! I'm so sad. So if you've been wondering where I've been, I'm still here but my computer's not. I'm at my mom's house using her computer. I hope ours gets fixed soon!

My Babies

I gave Owen his first haircut today. He no longer has a mullet in the back and his fohawk is cut down one inch. And one side is shorter than the other above his ear. Oopsie! Tony was calling him Vanilla Ice. Sad. Oh well. It'll grow back right?
Owen is such a drooler these days. He's constantly making buh-buh-bubbles.
